I can't think of a better way to cap off Asian Heritage Month (or Asian-American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders Heritage Month in the United States) than with a story that is written and illustrated by an Asian-American Christian.
Scent of Home by Christine Hwang Panzer is a children's book that evokes childhood memories and is a sweet way to share the concept of home.

Book Thoughts
This is such a charmingly illustrated and sweet story about a young family of foxes. After Kit is born, Daddy Fox looks for a new home that will accommodate them all. As young Kit and Mommy Fox await their new dwelling, they encounter new friends along the way. These friends share in generous hospitality, helping Kit discover what home means to those he encounters.
What's beautiful is that Mommy Fox comforts Kit with the idea of the scent of home, evoking a mix of familiar and unique smells that Kit will instantly recognize. The allusion to how the aroma of Christ can drive us forward in life is told in an engaging children's story that is rich yet simple in its imagery. I can fully picture foxes sitting down to a lovely roast chicken dinner as a result of Christine Hwang Panzer's storytelling! Parents looking for a book about senses that will help little ones seek after their heavenly home will enjoy meeting this little fox family.

Book Quotes
The roasted chicken, carrots, potatoes, and gravy aromas filled her mind. “But the difference is, your daddy is not here. That’s all part of the true scent of home.” Kit was already asleep, and Momma snuggled him closer and whispered, “You will know very soon.”
