Review: Sweet Imaginings - Secrets of River Hollow Romance #0.5

Sweet Imaginings book cover on blue background

Sweet Imaginings was my first book from Dulcie Dameron, and I'm looking forward to continuing the Secrets of River Hollow Romance series now that I've had a taste!

Book Synopsis

Kara Kepkey has big dreams of leaving River Hollow and becoming a chef. But when local police officer, Brady Parkins, shows up at her doughnut shop every day for a week straight, his warm presence threatens to derail every one of her carefully laid plans.

Brady Parkins noticed Kara the very first time he returned home from the Police Academy. She's all grown up and everything he never knew he wanted. But when Brady puts his heart on the line, he risks getting it broken by the one girl he imagines he'll never forget.

Can Kara and Brady find a way to be together while still giving her space to pursue her dreams?

Book Thoughts

This novella was a delight to read! I appreciated how realistic Brady came across and how sweet and nervous he was around Kara. Though Kara misattributes his feelings to disinterest at first, they have an opportunity to communicate better over time. Central to this short book is the theme of faith, and it is written in such a natural way that it's easy to envision seekers and newer believers having similar conversations. There is a lot packed into these pages, and every chapter counts, delving into themes like loneliness, grief, and regret. If Sweet Imaginings is a hint of what's to come with the Secrets of River Hollow Romance series, there will be a lot of sweetness going around!

Review: Every Hour Until Then - Timeless #5

Who else is excited for the next installment in the Timeless series by Gabrielle Meyer to release this month?! This is likely my favourite historical Christian fiction series and one I will continue to recommend. I kept my husband intrigued with enough hints for Every Hour Until Then that he now has to find time to read books two to four to get caught up 😄 Many thanks to  Bethany House Publishers  and  NetGalley  for providing a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own. Book Synopsis Gifted with the ability to time-cross between Victorian-era London and World War II Washington, DC, Kathryn faces two lives fraught with danger. In 1938 amid the looming shadow of war, Kathryn is invited to the London Museum as a guest curator to create a groundbreaking exhibit on Jack the Ripper and his reign of terror. Review: Now and Not Yet

This is a title that I've been excited about ever since I saw others sharing about it, so I'm thrilled that I was able to read  Now and Not Yet  by  Ruth Chou Simons  before it was released yesterday. Many thanks to  Nelson Books  and  NetGalley  for providing a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own. Book Synopsis Bestselling author Ruth Chou Simons guides readers who are restless in their current circumstances on a journey of growth, purpose, and pressing in. Too often, we feel disappointed with our "right now"--our life circumstances, our relationships, our progress, our daily grind. We want to do so many things--good, godly things--but our situations don't allow us to step into them. Are we missing out on our own lives? Why does right now seem so far from where we really long to be? Bestselling author Ruth Chou Simons reminds us that it's okay to not like the right now we've been given, but we do...
