Review: Only You Can Love Me - Trinity Lakes Romance #15

Only You Can Love Me book cover on blue background

What a treat to be able to visit Trinity Lakes for the first time! I loved my time there with Only You Can Love Me by Carolyn Miller and am excited to return there for some earlier stories in this series now. If you've had the blessing of reading books by her, you'll enjoy seeing the intertwined nature of her characters and how their worlds collide.

Many thanks to the author for providing a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Book Synopsis

Wanted: someone hardworking, honest, humble, with a sense of humor, who can appreciate the simple things in life. Who loves God, loves family, and loves animals. Genuine seekers only.

Dr. Jess Martin—Doc Martin to her local community—might be used to solving the veterinary problems of rural south east Washington, but she can't solve the problems of her lonely heart. When a dating app specializing in rural connections comes her way she figures she's got nothing left to lose. Especially when she's already lost the only guy who had touched her heart, who has made it clear his future lies in Silicon Valley and not in Trinity Lakes. It's time to let go of the past, once and for all.

Cooper Reilly never pictured himself as finding his future or contentment on a ranch. His heart has always hankered for the finer things of life. But when a corporate reshuffle sees him kicked to the kerb [curb], he finds himself right back where he started. And right back to trying to convince a certain pretty vet to give him a second chance. But she's not playing, convinced she's found her Dream Match already. But there's something she doesn't know...

Can these two friends look past previous mistakes and find a future? And what does a hunky fireman have to say about a perfect Dream Match?

Book Thoughts

I so enjoyed getting to meet Cooper and Jessica in this story about the realities of work burnout and running ragged in order to meet others' needs. It's a difficult truth to hear when there is a tendency toward workaholism and perfectionism, and it was handled with grace and wisdom. The Reilly family captured my heart, making me want to read more about how they've overcome so much through their trust in God. As always, Carolyn Miller writes in such a heartfelt way that it's easy to see her characters as friends and community members. I loved getting to know some of the people in Trinity Lakes, and it's whet my appetite to read more from the series.

Faith is openly expressed, and it's lovely to see how willingly Cooper and Jessica pray for one another, even if there are challenging issues to work through. It's a testament to the writing that prayer feels so natural and that God is truly relied on as His people seek Him for direction. The fun You've Got Mail thread provides some levity, and I appreciate how it's treated when juggling online correspondence and in real life relationships. Readers with a heart for animals will be rooting for this version of Doc Martin, who works in just as pastoral a setting with just as quirky and loving a cast of townspeople.

With surnames like Austen and Dashwood, you know that the people of Wisteria, North Carolina are just itching for a romance to play out before their eyes. Review: Beyond the Clouds - Women of Midtown #3

Am I ever excited to see  Beyond the Clouds by  Elizabeth Camden , the last book in the Women of Midtown series , release on January 20, 2026! I've appreciated the stories of heroism in this series, and what makes this book stand out is that Delia does not naturally have the traits to take risks or stand out. Her timid nature is relatable and shows that courage can come at a cost, making her adventure even more enthralling.
