Book Thoughts
If life is a story, then it is a gift that we get to know and live in the very best story of all. That's what makes walking through Gospel Stories so enjoyable, where we can see God at work in every single book of the Bible. Broken down into five acts that cover creation in Genesis until restoration in Revelation, we can encounter Jesus in the midst of each narrative. Andrew Wilson is an engaging storyteller who offers apt analogies that help us better understand God's redemptive work.
In a way, this book is almost akin to a version of The Jesus Storybook Bible for adults with quick chapters that can be shared over time and with others. By exploring subplots and historical contexts, each story is made all the richer due to details that can easily get missed. Seeing common themes that are woven in between the stories, it is fascinating to discover how the Gospel has been communicated to us in so many ways as to capture our hearts and imaginations through poetry, laments, historical narratives, prophecies, and letters. If you’re looking to better tell the story of Jesus in the Bible, this is a winsome collection of biblical reflections turned into approachable nuggets of truth.
