Review: Beyond the Clouds - Women of Midtown #3

Am I ever excited to see Beyond the Clouds by Elizabeth Camden, the last book in the Women of Midtown series, release on January 20, 2026! I've appreciated the stories of heroism in this series, and what makes this book stand out is that Delia does not naturally have the traits to take risks or stand out. Her timid nature is relatable and shows that courage can come at a cost, making her adventure even more enthralling.

Book Thoughts

A thrilling conclusion to the Women of Midtown series, we get to know Delia Byrne who is working in a law firm, along with her first love, Finn Delaney, who has returned to America as a war hero. This second chance romance is a saga that takes us from an orphanage right to occupied Belgium in the midst of the First World War. It's a sweeping journey that catapults readers from the luxuries of life in New York to the plight of those on rations and lost freedoms. It's also a journey into forgiveness and shared humanity, with prayers for peace and an end to the war.

I appreciate that this book tackles the moral dilemmas of pacifism and just war, adding a layer of complexity to how people can respond to evil. Elizabeth Camden writes fiercely intelligent books that causes readers to think while exploring the depths of human emotions in such a way that it's easy to envision oneself within the story. I love that there are cameos from the previous books, making Beyond the Clouds a very satisfying read with deeper spiritual messages. If you enjoy wartime stories that tug at your heart through captivating characters along with fascinating historical events, you'll love getting to see Delia and Finn care for each other in courageous ways as they make a difference for countless people in need during the war.

With surnames like Austen and Dashwood, you know that the people of Wisteria, North Carolina are just itching for a romance to play out before their eyes. After visiting Colorado, I can see why this series has won a Colorado Book Award in the romance category. It's a celebration of all things small-town and Americana with a charming cast of characters. Wes and Addie Had Their Chance by Bethany Turner is the third book in the Adelaide Springs series and it's helpful to read the first two books as they culminate in this story. This book releases July 15, 2025, so there's time to catch up on the previous titles if this clean book series is of interest to you.
